About Music Director cum Singer - Lipika Banerjee

1. Her childhood was spent in an ambience of Indian folk, classical music and Indian classical dance.
2. She has never learnt classical music. She heard on radio songs of Lataji, Asha Bhosale, Mohd.Rafi and imitated them.
3. As the age of 11 or so, she met Lataji (her goddess of music) at the residence of famous cricketer.
4. Music was, in and will always be always be her first love.
5. It was difficult to become a playback artist without the knowledge of Indian Classical music. But a break came between 1991-93 with the Swami Narayan society. She sang several songs. the most famous are:
   
   1. Dari gayo mohe rang
      
   2. Pran sanehi ghar avo
   During the time she sang Guajarati bhajan on the All India Radio(Mumbai) of Narsimha Mehta.
6. She finally decided to compose rare bhajans of Mirabai and bhakt Surdas.
7. In 2004, she had at least 8-10 songs were ready. One of her students from Sathey College where she was a teacher of English, helped her. Swapnil Pandit her student not only played the percussion(tabla) but also introduced singer Mandar Apte and music coordinator and background music provider Prashant lalit. The first cassettes were released in 2004, September.
8. In 2005, she got the copy write and the registration for Mangal Series.
9. The next she approached the All India Radio for the signatory no. for Mangal Series. She received it in 2009. The number is N.P.-273. Her songs have been played many times on A.I.R.
10. Last year she filled up the necessary forms sent by the Delhi Directorate of A.I.R. for royalty.
